Read a deal page like an underwriter

Synq Score, Data trust, Progress trend, and five task-oriented tabs — everything a deal has done, and what it means, on one page.

What you’ll achieve

The ability to size up any deal in two minutes — what the evidence says, what the main concern is, and what to do next — without asking anyone for a status update.

Why this matters

Status updates are opinions delivered late. The deal page is the record: every meeting, reply, silence, and slip on one timeline. Teams that read it stop having “wait, what happened with this one?” conversations.

The steps

  1. 1

Read the hero: score, trend, trust

The top of the page gives you the Synq Score (the deal’s health, scored from its recorded activity), the Progress trend — Improving, Stable, or Slipping — and a Data trust label: Verified, Partial, or Needs review.

    • Data trust is the honesty layer: Verified means the evidence passed trust checks; Needs review means the score leans on thin or stale history — treat it as a heads-up, not a verdict.
  2. 2

    Start on Overview

The Overview tab is the two-minute read: headline, score, 30-day trend, and what is affecting this deal right now — what may help it, what may slow it.

  3. 3

Open “Risks & next steps” when something is off

This tab merges the warnings, the main concern, and the suggested next step. Every risk names its evidence — click through and you see the actual activity behind it, not a mystery number.

  4. 4

Use “Qualification” to pressure-test the deal

Your sales playbook lives here (MEDDIC-style qualification if you use it): budget owner, champion, decision process. Gaps in qualification are usually the real reason a deal feels wobbly.

  5. 5

Check “People & activity” for the human layer

Who is on the deal, what role they play, and how engaged they are. A single-threaded deal — one contact carrying everything — is one reorg away from dying; this tab is where you catch it.

  6. 6

Read “Story so far” before any big meeting

The full narrative timeline: what happened, what it meant, how the deal got here. Two minutes here beats twenty minutes of prep-by-scrolling-email.

You’re done when

  • You can explain the deal’s score from its evidence, not from memory.
  • The deal has a concrete next step — or you know exactly why it does not.
